Default Zimbra as "MAPI client"?

Hello,
we want to migrate a customer that uses Outlook 2000 for long years to Zimbra Open Source Edition.
The Zimbra web-interface is great for replacing the Outlook installations on every computer, but there is one big problem: some applications need a local installed mail client that speaks MAPI!

Is there a way or a program that can send all the MAPI requests from these applications to the Zimbra web client?
We don't want to install a local mail app like Outlook or Thunderbird again that talks to Zimbra, we only want to use the web-interface of Zimbra.
A little tool that is running in the background of every Windows 7 client and redirect MAPI requests to Zimbras web-interface or something like that would be great!

I have installed Zimbra Desktop 7.1.2 yesterday on Windows 7,
but it don't seems to act as a local mail app and it don't catches MAPI requests.
When i click on a mail to link in Firefox it doesn't open Zimbra Desktop.

Of course it doesn't, it's not a MAPI client.

Then set the default application for opening 'mail-to' links.

And that's the reason why Zimbra Desktop is not what i'm looking for.

Maybe that works, but the main problem is still there! No MAPI client!

Habitech

The new Zimbra Notifier 5.x has now MAPI-Support!

Special thanks to Martin for this great piece of software!
