Default File size error

The migration doesn't fail, it completes and prompts that the imap folder have been synced,

The error message is repeated for every mail that has attachments, i haven't tried any other versions of imapsync ..will do that ,

and am really sorry if the last sentence in my previous post sounded rude, i appreciate all the efforts you guys are putting in this,

thanks,

Sunil

That's OK, it wasn't rude. What is your timescale for the conversion?

So all the messages transfer OK, it's only a problem with emails that have attachments? Is it all mail with attachments that have the problem? What type of attachments are they?

Default Ok with IMAPClient 2.2.9 imapsync 1.182 and --syncinternaldates

I am using
Mail::<b>IMAPClient version is 2.2.9</b>
$Id: <b>imapsync,v 1.182</b> 2006/08/01 23:07:42 gilles Exp $

with the following parameters:
Code:
imapsync --nosyncacls --subscribe --syncinternaldates --host1 serverfrom.example.com --user1 robert@domain.net --password1 changeme --host2 serverto.example.com --user2 robert@domain.net --password2 changeme
For me the dates are OK.

Tested from Plesk qmail to Zimbra 4.0.4 and from Zimbra 4.0.4 on Fedora Core 4 to Zimbra 4.0.4 on Debian.

Post 1.213 works as is

I was using 1.182 due to the internal dates not syncing. I found that it would hang a long time on large emails. I did an strace on the process and it was doing lots of mremap'ing.

I checked for a new imapsync and found this in the changelog

I tested 1.213 with no additional patches and it synced the dates just fine. I haven't done much comparison yet, but it seemed faster. Here's my command:

Code:
time ./imapsync.1.213 \
    --ssl1 --authmech1 PLAIN --host1 $HOST_FROM --user1 "${USER}${DOVECOT_MASTER}" --passfile1 $PWORD \
    --exclude '^UCD-spam-\d\d' \
    --ssl2 --authmech2 PLAIN --host2 $HOST_TO   --user2 $USER --passfile2 $PWORD \
    --regextrans2 's/UCD-spam/Junk/' \
    --syncinternaldates \
    1>&2 >> $LOG

Default imapsync ChangeLog

imapsync's ChangeLog suggests version >=1.213 use a modified append_file2() function and hence work with --syncdates.

use message_to_file()instead of message_string()
use append_file() instead of append_string()

- Back to append_string() use because of syncinternaldates
"bug" with append_file().
