Default Zimbra Training!

I was thinking, wouldn't it be a good idea for Zimbra to conduct training for ZCS. Let's say something like:

1. ZCS Administrator Training
  • Introduction to Zimbra
  • Installing Zimbra from Binaries
  • Installing Zimbra from Source
  • Zimbra Admin Section
  • Backup and Restore
  • Securing Zimbra
  • Performance Tuning
  • Setting up Zimbra for High Availability
...

2. ZCS Developer Training
  • Introduction to Zimbra
  • ZCS Architecture
  • Installing Zimbra from Source
  • Writing Zimlets
  • Developing with Zimbra
...

5 days/ $ 1499 / participant

Take up both and pay only $2249

Training and product exposure are always a good idea. I know I could learn a lot from people who know what's what, and people who know a lot more than I can often find something new when put in a room with like-minded people.

The problem though is that Zimbra is still small, and global, so there's so very few people in one location that the market for realworld training programmes is unrealistic. The only option would be virtual using whatever medium, but it's not the same as really being in a room with others.

Yes and no...

You could use the local vars and hosting partners who are certified to perform the training and then provide this as another ticket item from Zimbra to resell.

I think that as the product grows, training will appear.

I've worked with a close competitor to Zimbra, and they did offer training. . .but then again, they were larger too.

Not a bad idea tho.

BTW: Why is this in the migration forum??

Yes, that's true. I rarely get to attend training for new and good OSS Projects where I live. If it would be Virtual, I would be so much a candidate for.

I thought of training because Zimbra is getting popular and it woud be a good attraction for people who want to migrate to Zimbra.

I think, ticket item is a great idea. But don't know why training from JBoss, Alfresco, Liferay, etc. are not available in India.
