Thumbs down how to migrate sendmail

hi
my mail server has user mails and mail directories stored in "/home/username" and the authentication is through /etc/password. it runs sendmail as mta and i use squirel mail as webclient .

i am planing to migrate to zimbra 4.0 and i dont have any idea how i should move about 1500 users and there mail . i dont understand how mails are stored in zimbra , as i have figured out it is stored in /opt/zimbra/store ..
can any one help me how should i migrate my mail server.

I assume, you are using IMAP. Search the forums for imapsync.

It is not as simple as storing e-mails in /opt/zimbra/store

So don't think of it!

You may want to take a look at Chapter 9 of the O'Reilly Managing IMAP book. It has a nice example script for converting mbox mail to imap mailboxes. You can convert your /etc/passwd entries into zimbra accounts using zmprov. And then run the script to import the email into zimbra via IMAP assuming you are on the same box.

What if my sendmail box is separate from zimbra? Possible to do something similar (create the mailboxes)? I have IMAPSYNC working (sorta), but I need something to create the mailboxes. Is this possible across the multiple servers?

1. Create a CSV file
2. Bulk Provisioning
