    Default PHPMyAdmin for My SQL

Is there a way to get PHPMyAdmin or or any SQL Gui program for that matter to see the Zimbra built-in MySQL?
I know we can use command-line but we need to import about 3000 contacts from OpenXchange and need to compare fields.
This would be much easier with a Gui.
Alternatively, does anyone know how we could re-direct the Access MySQL OBDC driver to look at the correct location on the Zimbra server. At the moment it just refuses with an 'Access Denied' type message when we use the correct username and password from the localconfig.xml file in /opt/....../Zimbra.

    Thanks

    Russ

Default Editing MySQL is a Bad Idea.

You really don't want to go straight against MySQL. Indexing won't get done, the Zimbra internal contact format is not particularly readable, you'd need to do this with the Zimbra server down, and you'd have to update the ZIMBRA.MAILBOX table correctly or else you'd subsequently throw DUPLICATE_ROW exceptions.

Are you sure that importing from CSV/vCard won't do what you want?

    Default

    Thanks,

I will probably just stick to using CSV. It's just that you have to do this import per User don't you?
Using SQL on other occasions we could just import them all at once and assign them to the correct user.
Is there an easier way to do this do you know?

    Thanks again for your advice

    Russ

    Default CSV is probably best

You'll have to do a per-user import. You can do this via SOAP calls (ImportContactsRequest) or by POSTing the user's CSV to the appropriate REST URL.
