Default Migrating from Sun Java Messaging Server 6.2 to Zimbra?

The current server has been in action for more than 6 years. The plan is to migrate to Zimbra (namely Zimbra Appliance) in the near future.

What is the best way to manage this?

The answer to that would be IMAPSYNC, you should also read some of the threads in the forums on IMAPSYNC: site:zimbra.com +imapsync - Yahoo! Search Results
