Default Cpanel maildir migration to Zimbra on Debian

I currently have a cpanel server (puke) that is in mialdir format that I must migrate to Zimbra. I have already created all accounts distribution groups etc.. but now I am faced with the taks of making sure all IMAP folders and messages are moved over correctly.

I search for a bit and didn't really find any answers to this that were very clear

Does anyone have a link or process that works to complete this type of task?

Can you access the current server with IMAP? If so, check out the various things around here about using imapsync.

I did some digging and this is the command I am now using minus the passwords (1 of which I had improperly escaped is it contained symbols) now when connecting to zimbra server it just hangs, then tells me Can not open imap connection on [mailserver.gvocom.com] with user [aaron.m@gvocom.com] : Unable to connect to mailserver.gvocom.com: Connection timed out

Am not able to figure this out clear text login enabled tls authentication only is disabled I have everything wide open as far as I am concerned.

here is the command

--buffersize 8192000 --nosyncacls --subscribe --syncinternaldates --host1 localhost --user1 aaron.m@gvocom.com --password1 pass --host2 mailserver.gvocom.com --user2 aaron.m@gvocom.com --password2 pass --noauthmd5

Which system is Zimbra?

I'm pretty sure that out of the box Zimbra should work with " --authmech2 PLAIN -ssl2" if it's host2.

Then go to the wiki and read about IMAPSYNC and/or search the forums for further details.

Default imapsync migration

You might find these posts useful on imapsync migration. The first one is documenting part of the process we did on a Debian system, postfix + courier-imap.
