Default [SOLVED] forward mails from exchange to zimbra for accounts hosted on zimbra

Hi All

My company is testing zimbra, but I am stuck in configuring exchange to forward the mails to zimbra server for the accounts hosted on zimbra server.
I read that I should create a connector but what should be configured, i don't know

Can anyone help?

Thanks

You need a Split Domain.

It would have helped if you'd said that in the first place. How about some idea of what's happening such as errors you see as the user when you send an email and any errors in the log files.

I configured zimbra server to be secondary system and it relay the mails to the exchange sever without errors, the exchange account receive the mails successfully
But i Need the exchange account to send mail to the zimbra account.

The "split domain" article said:
---------------------------------------------
Make sure to configure mail.example.com to

* accept mail relayed by zimbra.example.com.
* forward mail to zimbra.example.com for accounts hosted on zimbra.

----------------------------------------------

the second point is my problem, I don't know what should be done on the exchange server(mail.example.com) to forward the mails to zimbra server

We're mainly ZCS admins here, not Exchange admins.

I guess you have to go in your Exchange user management tool and define a "reroute" or "forward" address for each account.

This means, on the ZCS server, each account has one main address (user@domain.tld) but also an alias (such as user@zimbra.domain.tld).

And in Exchange, you have to define user@zimbra.domain.tld as forward address for each account that is hosted on the ZCS and not Exchange.

Hi all,

There are useful articles on Microsoft Technet:
How to share an SMTP address space in Exchange 2000 Server or in Exchange Server 2003;
How to Configure Exchange 2007 to Route Messages for a Shared Address Space: Exchange 2007 Help (the same article exists in Exchange 2010 documentation).

At the same time, I prefer to use mail-enabled contacts with external SMTP-address, because it is necessary for Free/Busy synchronization.

Regards,
Roman
