drwx------ 2 lucron wheel 512 Nov 12 12:55 new
drwx------ 2 lucron wheel 512 Nov 12 12:55 tmp

The simplest way to backup the FOSS version is to just take a copy of /opt/zimbra, it sounds like you are using one of the various scripts out there that backs up per account. If so, which one did you use, as the process for restoring will vary depending on that.

Also, from what version of zimbra was your backup taken?

You could use IMAPSYNC to get the mail from one server to another.

That doesn't make it easy, check this wiki article for zmlmtpinject or any other method that might suit you better. You should also search the forums for further details on the use of zmlmtpinject.
