Install the same version of ZCS on the other server and then upgrade it.

Are you also trying to move from 32 -> 64 bit ?

I don't know if the 32 -> 64 bit change will make a difference here but the following steps may work for you:

1. Upgrade the current production server to 5.0.9 assuming there is a 5.0.9 build for Suse 10.2. This upgrade will allow you to export user's account via the CLI or the web interface if I'm remembering correctly.

2. Setup your new machine and get zimbra installed.

3. Create your domain(s) on the new machine and create all user accounts that you have on the old machine on the new machine.

4. Point the MX record(s) for your domain(s) to the new server.

5. Once mail is flowing to the new server, export each user account on the old server to a temporary location.

6. Copy the exported account files to a temporary location on the new server.

7. Import the export files into their respective accounts on the new server.

8. Shut down the old server.

I may be overlooking a thing or two here, but I think this general approach should work for you.

DONT FORGET TO MAKE BACKUPS BEFORE YOU START!

So are you moving from 32bit to 64bit? If you are you need to follow the instructions here: Network Edition: Moving from 32-bit to 64-bit Server - Zimbra :: Wiki - obviously skip the parts that reference NE features.
