Default Migration/Importing slow? Here's the answer
If you are having the same problems that many have with migrating large numbers of mail accounts, files, etc., taking more hours to finish, then try the script in this Forum posting of 2007.

maximizing imapsync speed - parallel runs

It's all the same script in different flavors.
