Default Exchange and Zimbra Co-Exist in Same Domain?

I am currently reviewing Zimbra and seems to do what we need it to. The problem is that I tested this on a Stand Alone environment.

For the next phase, I want to do a pilot program with a limited number of users. This Pilot program will determine if Zimbra is a long term platform we need.

So here is my qusetion.

1. Can Exchange and Zimbra Co-exists in the same Domain?

All users will be running Outlook front end. So to the user, they should see no difference. I am concerned about the inter communication between the Exchange and Zimbra for like Event calendaring.

We currently have a a front end Exchange server catching the mail, then directing it to the appropriate Exchange Server.

Any insight woudl greatly be appreciated.
