[SOLVED] Welcome letter

We are getting ready to transition to a zimbra based system, I'm wondering if there is anyway to deploy a welcome letter in new customers mailboxes (besides construction a mail and sending it to their box). Does zimbra have a standard way of doing this that I've missed? I'm not talking about a distribution list to mass mail our clients, I only want new customers to receive the welcome mail with a small tutorial about how great zimbra is, and how much they will like it, etc. etc.

hi..no built in function to do that other than mass email..but if you users alredy know where to go (i.e: they know zimbra login page) and assuming they all use WEB MAIL.

by doing that you can show users the link to your how to / information about zimbra.

* what version of zimbra are you useing OSS or NE as in NE i guess there is something called HOME portal which users can see when logged in

We are starting out with the OSS version. While the ticker setup is nice, I'm not planning on using the login screen (I'm wrapping zimbra into my site). I just wanted to drop a letter into their box (without constructing it)

I've resolved this issue. During user account creation time, I'm issuing the command.

/opt/zimbra/bin/zmmailbox -z -m user@domain.com addmessage -F u "/Inbox" "/etc/scripts/introductory"

Where introductory is a folder containing the message in MBOX format.

This allows me to populate the users account with an email message of my construction as the first message in the account for a new user.
