Migrating Zimbra 3.1.4 in Debian 3.1 32-bit to 5.0.4 in Ubuntu 8.10 64-bit

How can migrate Zimbra 3.1.4 in Debian 3.1 32-bit to 5.0.4 in Ubuntu 8.10 64-bit.
Reading in this forum I have an idea, but I don't know if this is possible:

1º Install in other machine Ubuntu 5.04 (because is almost the same version as Debian 3.1) and the same version of Zimbra that i have in the old machine.
2º Make a backup of my old Zimbra server, and use it in the new machine.
3º And then upgrade Zimbra to version 4.5.11.
4º Upgrade Ubuntu to 8.10 32-bit.
5º Upgrade to 8.10 64-bit.
6º Upgrade Zimbra to 5.0.4.

I need some help to know if that idea is right or I must think another solution.

Welcome to the forums

You are running so a old version of ZCS and also wanting to upgrade to 64bit so what you have proposed would not work anyway. You would be better installing 5.0.15 on 64bit Ubuntu from scratch and then use IMAPSYNC to copy across the data. Do you have many accounts setup ?
