Default [SOLVED] Migration from zimbra 4.5.3 to 5.0.13

Hi,

We are using zimbra open source edition 4.5.3 for the last few years. Right now we want to migrate to the latest edition.

Is there a step by step procedure to do this? We have googled and tried many options, but all failed.

we are more interested to see how we can do a manual migration, I mean a manual backup and restore of mysql database, ldap, stores, indexes, configs etc.

Total mail box size is around 80G,

Thanks & Regards
Viji

Welcome to the forums

Is this a single or multi server install ? Why not just upgrade in situ ? If a single server you can upgrade straight to 5.0.13 but as always ensure you have reliable backups. IMHO I would recommend that you shutdown ZCS using the /etc/init.d script and then check using ps aux | grep zimbra to ensure all processes have instead stopped before continuing.

Hi,

We have tried all these, this is a single server install.

The problem is that after successful installation the mail boxes doesn't starts. We have two requirements.

1. We need to upgrade to 5.0.13
2. The existing server is 32 bit, we need to migrate to 64.

Right now I am planning to do the following

1. Install RHEL 4.7 x86_64 on the new server (current server is fedora 6, we would like to go for RHEL5, but 4.5.3 doesn't support it)
2. Install 4.5.3 64 bit
3.Restore from 32 bit using the method
Network Edition: Moving from 32-bit to 64-bit Server - Zimbra :: Wiki
4. Upgrade to 4.5.11
5. Upgrade to 5.0.13

Any suggestion on this will be greatly appreciated.
