Default [SOLVED] imapsync fails to authenticate to Zimbra server

Hi,
I keep getting error messages saying that:
1. Host dest_server says it has NO CAPABILITY for AUTHENTICATE LOGIN
2. Error login : [source_server] with user [test_user] auth [LOGIN]: 3 NO cleartext logins disabled

This is the syntax for imapsync:
"imapsync --buffersize 8192000 --nosyncacls --syncinternaldates --subscribe --host1 source_svr --user1 test_user1 --password1 secret1 --host2 dest_svr --user2 zimbra_user --password2 secret2 --noauthmd5 --authmech1 PLAIN --authmech2 LOGIN --debugimap"

I've done these things:
1. enabled (checked) clear text login in server and global settings
2. authmech2 PLAIN --ssl2

This is just a test server, there is no valid SSL cert installed. Also, when I configure Outlook to read email, I have to select the encrypted connection method to Auto or TLS in order to connect to the IMAP server. What did I do wrong and what am I missing?

Thanks in advance,
PL
