Exclamation migrating from suse 9.3 zcs 4.5.5 to ...

Hello,

We have been using zimbra for several years and now we recently aquire a new and powerfull server and want to migrate to the new server. We have suse 9.3 and zcs 4.5.5 and want to migrate to any OS and latest zcs but we don't want to lose any mails or settings.
We have tried to migrate to opensuse 11 and after that we had problems with perl and we saw that opensuse is no longer supported.

We have tried to follow instructions from your pages but only after that we saw that opensuse is no longer supported and we didn't manage to do anything with it. We have decided to change the OS with centOS 5 and latest zcs. From what I can see centOS has full support from zimbra.

Can you help us ? where can I find a tutorial, howto, or anything that could help us migrate from suse 9.3 and zcs 4.5.5 to centOS 5 and latest zcs without loosing mails, accounts and everything else ?

What we have thought is to upgrade zimbra from 4.5.5 to 4.5.11 on our suse 9.3 and after that to rsync it to our new centOS 5 server running the same zcs 4.5.11, and after that to continue tu upgrade to the latest version of zcs.

thank you very much

Welcome to the forums

CentOS does not have full support from Zimbra even though we would like it to be Are you running FOSS or NE version of ZCS ? The supported platforms are described in the respective download sections :-

Zimbra :: Network Edition Downloads
Zimbra :: Community Edition Downloads

Default 10x 4 the reply

actualy we have 3 servers running zimbra, one is NE and 2 of them are FOSS, we are planing to upgrade all 3 of them but we started with this one: suse 9.3 and GA_838.SuSEES9_20070503173634 UNKNOWN FOSS edition

the idea is that we want to fully migrate to a new server with an OS which will be supported 100% in the future, but the questions is how to migrate safely from suse9 to another os with the latest release of zimbra.

thanks in advanced

after the FOSS edtition we are planing to upgrade this one too:
Release 4.5.10_GA_1575.SuSE10_20071117103813 openSUSE_10.2 NETWORK edition
