Default [SOLVED] Exchange Migration Wizard not copying mails

Hi Everyone,
when I try to migrate a mailbox from Exchange 2000 everything seems to work fine: the mailbox is created in Zimbra, I can select whether or not I want to copy mail of the trash bin and deleted items.

But as soon as the tool reaches the place where the actual copying takes place, it freezes. After waiting and waiting I can only hit the cancel button (so it's not really frozen, but nothing happens.) CPU usage of the migration tool is 99%. After I hit cancel, the tool closes correctly.

The newly created mailbox exists, I can log on to it but it doesn't have any mails or folders in it. This also happens with very small mailboxes.

Please help, this is the last hurdle before my migration (I guess ;-)

Default Logon failure

Your logs show a MAPI logon failure to the message store. Have you double checked the logon credentials your passing to Exchange?

hmm. I know I have the correct credentials of the admin account in exchange (I verified it with the web access). But the migration wizard doesn't ask me for the password of the admin account, only for the username...

The messages "Could not open default message store. hr[0x8004011d]." and "MAPILogonEx Failed: 80040113" do not exist any more, but still the result is the same: nothing is being copied..

Lightbulb

I just solved the problem: it was due to a wrong initial configuration. I tried to execute the migration wizard from the exchange 2000 server (windows 2000). this did not work.

Instead I set up a windows xp client pc with outlook 2007 (trial version). I checked, that outlook could connect to the admin user account in exchange. Then I executed the migration wizard and it worked fine.
