Default Thunderbird - Lightning Tasks

Hello,

I'm using Thunderbird/Lightning to sync my calender but I'm unable to sync my Tasks.

Can anyone help me, If I create a Tasks on the Webinterface, I can't see it in Thunderbird.

Regards - Willi

I have the same problem:
  • Zimbra tasks (created in Zimbra) ar not visible in Thunderbird,
  • Thunderbird tasks (created in TB, using Zimbra Calendar) stay in TB and are not visible in Zimbra.

OS: Linux (amd64)
Thunderbird: 2.0.0.18
Lightning: 0.8

(and I experienced the same behavior on a Windows system, with even e newer Lightning (0.9).

Default Workaround

I noticed that Zimbra uses a separate ICS file to store tasks. Tasks stored in Calendar(s) are ignored by Zimbra.

Thus, you have to add a second calendar in Lightning:

Code:
https://<server>/home/<username>/Tasks
This is just a workaround because it is not comfortable to work in Lightning this way: you have to specify the according calendar for each appointment/task.

Does anyone see a solution to this?

I don't have a solution but another observation is that if you search for a task by name within zimbra, it will turn up and will even be identified as a task.

Also, iCal appears to store tasks in the same place as Lightning--each can see tasks created by the other.

Anyone managed to find a decent way to use thunderbird/ical as well as the web gui without having to remember to choose the correct calendar?
