Default Dealing with external aliases file import

Hello all,

I am currently running a local sendmail box on a DSL connection (non-permanent connection) that uses fetchmail to pull mail out of a remote pop account on a hosted server.

I am currently evaluating Zimbra on my hosted server and found that you can bulk provision a sendmail aliases File to Zmprov as described here:
Bulk Provisioning - Zimbra :: Wiki

So my question is ... can i still maintain all my aliases locally and somehow synchronise aliases between my local sendmail aliases file and Zimbra box using this script somehow. Was thinking of a simple cron job that uploads aliases file to zimbra box, and then run this script over it daily or with any change to the local alises file. Will this script handle aliases that already exist in the zimba aliases database ... ie. ignore or skip. And then how would it handle deleted aliases ... im pretty sure it wont ...

thanks
