Arrow 4.5.11 to 5.06 Migration Suggestion

Could I run #zmprov gaa -v on my 4.5.11 zimbra server then use that output with #zmprov ca on my 5.0.6 zimbra server to import the accounts and their settings?

I then would use imapsync to copy all the emails, docs, calenders from 4.5.11 to the new server 5.0.6.

Comments please.

FYI, I have this nagging problem that when I upgrade from 4.5.11 to any of the 5.0.x releases there is an error with the postfix I can't fix.
So I need more space on my server anyway so I may as well upgrade to to a newer OS and a larger hard drive.

There's information in the wiki (and lots of forum advice) about migrating Zimbra from one server to another and/or doing a user migration. Perhaps it would be a better idea to try and fix the 'postfix errors' that you claim to be having. Some background, some log files, some errors - where does the upgrade go wrong and what exactly happens?

I'm somewhat confused by the log file you've sent me (please post information to a forum thread in future), it's from an upgrade in February that shows you upgrading from 4.5.6 to 5.0.2. It's pointless looking at that log as, according to several post of yours, I see that you've already upgraded from 4.5.6 to 4.5.11 and the log shows nothing about postfix errors. What's the output of 'zmcontrol -v' on your system? Please update your profile with that information. Take a backup and try the upgrade again and see what happens.

So I pulled a backup off my zimbra server 4.5.11.
BTW my logger currently does not work for some reason.
Then I did the upgrade to 5.0.7GA.
Below are some of the log files, and directly below is the error when I try to start zimbra.

When I start zimbra, here is the error:

Code:
Starting ldap...Done.
        Starting logger...Done.
        Starting mailbox...Done.
        Starting antispam...Done.
        Starting antivirus...Done.

        Starting spell...Done.
        Starting mta...FAILED

postalias: fatal: bad string length 0 < 1: mail_owner =
postfix failed to start

Here is my zmsetup.log from the upgrade:

This must be the value of the parameter .....

[root@d ~]# su - zimbra -c 'postconf | grep mail_owner'
mail_owner = postfix

Default I recently upgraded to 5.08

I am not getting the exact same error message. I attempted to set the mail_owner, but it appears that zimbra is overwriting it some where. Any ideas?
