Default Migration from one machine to another

I am trying to migrate Zimbra (zcs-5.0.5_GA_2201) from one machine to another:
* I copied the /opt/zimbra tree to the new System (also Ubuntu 6.06)
* also the content of /tmp to the new systen
* /etc/init.d/zimbra, /etc/passwd, /etc/shadows, /etc/group

Trying to start Zimbra, a password is requestet. I deeper look shows, that a LDAP password is required.

? How do I get rid off the password request?
? Why is the origin machine able to start without a LDAP password?
? Which file holds the passwort?

thx in anvance,
martin

Hi, the method you have used seems reasonable, but it's not the recommended way.

Have a look at this link, following these instructions should leave you with a functioning system. Moving ZCS to Another Server » Zimbra :: Blog
