Wink Zimbra and shared mail folders

Hi everyone
I've been looking to migrate to Zimbra for almost 2 years now, and I want to start moving some users over.
We're a small business of 15-20 users and initially I'll be installing the Open source version.
However when all users are over we will want the Network Professional edition because... the ActiveSync support is required by some users.
Just not sure how long this process will be, otherwise I'd do the Network Edition trial.

But I have a quick question about how Zimbra manages shared mail folders.

Currently in Exchange (SBS 2003) we have a whole set of client-specific mail folders in the public folders email store.
Can Zimbra offer something similar to that? That can be shared between all users?

Also, what about attaching an e-mail address to a public folder?
Currently we have a spam box which routes directly into a public email folder.

Are these possible with Zimbra?

Thanks, Ben

Yes you can do this.

The way we do it is we have a user called "Company" that we use for all our celtralized storage. Then, we create a folder for each project that we have under that Company user. That folder is shared read/write wtih everyone in the company. This gives the abiblity for people to mount only the project folders they work on.

This also gives you the ability to e-mail Company@domain.com and you can even setup custom filters for that user if you want to say filter by a project number in the subject field and have it automaticly put into that project folder.

Ok that's excellent news

Pretty tempted to start migrating a few of the guys on Macs, straight away.

They have terrible problems trying to access public folders using Exchange/IMAP/Thunderbird

Just another thought on this...

So I set up a user account called say 'Company Shared' and have an email address like shared@domain.com
But I guess I can also have other email aliases set for that account, and set up rules to route addresses into different folders.

This all sounds really good.

Is there a way to migrate Exchange public folders into Zimbra?
Or will it be a copy of Thunderbird and IMAP between the 2?

Thanks, B
