    Default "Reserved" folder names

I've been experimenting with migrating email accounts and noticed something that should have been obvious to me: Zimbra uses certain folders for its own purposes, for example, "Contacts".

    1) Is there a documented list of all the folders Zimbra might use so that we can work around that?

    2) What happens if you end up migrating a set of IMAP messages into a Zimbra folder like "Contacts"?

    Thanks.

    1) Do a zmmailbox-z -m user@domain.com getAllFolders on a brand new account and it's essentially those.
Folder names must be between 1 and 128 characters long & can't contain control characters, tabs, carriage returns, linefeeds, or any of the three characters " and : and /

    2) You can zmmailbox-z -m user@domain.com emptyFolder /FolderName and you should be set to try again with a correction on import to send them to another location of course.

/Notes and /Journal should also be considered reserved. /Briefcase is added in 5.0.

If you're using imapsync, add a bunch of directives like

    --regextrans2 's/^CALENDAR/CALENDAR (old)/' \
    --regextrans2 's/^Contacts$/Contacts (old)/'\
    --regextrans2 's/^Notes$/Notes (old)/'\
    --regextrans2 's/^calendar$/calendar (old)/'\
    --regextrans2 's/^contacts$/contacts (old)/'\
    --regextrans2 's/^notes$/notes (old)/' --regextrans2 's/: / /g'\
    --regextrans2 's/://' --regextrans2 's/^Contacts\//Contacts (old)\//i'\

Hm, I've been able to create /Notes & /Journal since being on 5.0; they don't appear or even give an error message when you create them from the web-client in 4.5.9/.10 & even /Notebooks works (yes I'm not doing them subfolder of /Inbox/ or anything in my command line) then again there's always Outlook fun...

Short list of immutable stuff & their types:
    / -conv
    /Briefcase -docu
    /Calendar -appo
    /Chats -mess
    /Contacts -cont
    /Drafts - mess
    /Emailed Contacts -cont
    /Inbox -mess
    /Junk -mess
    /Notebook -wiki
    /Sent -mess
    /Tasks -task
    /Trash -conv

Presumably, though, if I migrate Inbox -> Inbox, Drafts -> Drafts and Sent -> Sent, there aren't going to be any problems, right?

And I'm not following what you said about Notes and Journal. Should I give them the same treatment Rich suggests for the other folders?

Correct, it's just that you can't delete (or create folders with those names because they will obviously already be in existence) - imapsyncing the mail between folders with those names should be fine.

    4.5: I can't create /Notes & /Journal
    5.0: I can create /Notes & /Journal (even /Notebooks) using the web-client or CLI
