Hi, I am looking for a solution for a small company. I don't want to use M$ Exchange as I've seen the hassle involved. Currently we are using separate emails with the boxes on the ISP and exchange clients.
My main requirements are initially for shared address book and calendar and mail-merge. I would like Zimbra to be able to send mail but to leave the incoming mail as it is for the moment.
I know Unix (Ubuntu and Solaris) quite well and can set the system up.
Will Zimbra meet my requirements and what is the best way to set up the mail?
Welcome to the forums.
When you say 'leave the incoming mail as it is', do you mean you want to leave it on the other server or download it to Zimbra and leave it on the external server?
You can certainly use Zimbra to send your mail and use the other features in it. A bit more of a description on what you want would help.
Thanks for the reply.
I was hoping to send the mail via one of the existing accounts ( I have previously done this for sendmail), but i'm not sure how to configure it. I noticed a feature where users could add pop accounts, similar to M$ Outlook, and thought I could use this initially as some of our staff are remote some of the time and may prefer to continue to use Outlook.
We would like to use the system to create newsletters to a group of emails. Can this be achieved in Zimbra?
Any help anybody? I have the system running but am unable to send any mail (even locally)
