One of my test users reported that he imported his pst files using the GUI tool, and now all his old appointments show up in ZCS but he can not edit them. Has anyone see this before?

was he the owner/organizer of the former events?
I've had a few complaints about this also. My first instinct was also to ask if they were the creator, organizer of the appointment/meeting. They were. I'll also be interested the fix.

Make sure you read this:
Retaining Same Email Address after Migration - ZimbraWiki
and if you didn't retain the same address across systems you have several choices. If you have already completed the import, you can add an alias that matches the address on the old system. If you haven't done the import yet, make sure to select the option that tells the importer to map the old email addresses to the new ones.
Thanx, that makes some sense.
And even though the explanation makes sense, I think there should be a option in the importer that would bypass this. I'm not sure it makes sense to require that the user migrate to domain with the same name. Another anoying side effect that my users are reporting is that because the appointment can not be edited, reminders seem to refuse to be permanently dismissed.
Edited to add: Wait .. are you saying that selecting the convert email addresses option would import the calendar stuff in a editable mode? What if there where multiple email addresses because of old aliases? Can multiple addresses be converted?

after migrating from outlook 2003 to zimbra, using outlook importer,
all imported appointments are not-editable, even after setting the option to map the old e-mail address to the new one.
also, even if i export the data to iCal format, and then import it into zimbra, the appointments cannot be changed.
is there a way to change/edit imported appointments?

We have noticed the same issue; I've not had time to search bug reports.
However, we have found that by shutting down web browser; relaunching; re-logging in; and immediately going to calendar, you can edit/delete imported appointments for a while. I haven't played with it enough to figure out how it breaks.
