.pst migration issues

I'm testing Zimbra as our new email server platform & am currently importing my .pst to prove the system processes.

My .pst size is 113M and I've gone through the .pst repair wizard and ensured that it is not corrupt but am only able to get the process started for a few minutes before it says too many errors & dies. (but it does successfully import 100+ emails & inbox folders so I know that things are trying to work)

My questions are:
-How well is this process supposed to work or worked for others? (as-in, if we use Zimbra I'd have to convert/upload 150 users .pst's so the process would need to work well)

-I was on Vista & Office 2003, is there anything that says that XP would be
better?

Are you running Exchange? If so, try the migration tool included with Zimbra rather than the PST importer. I used it to migrate about 80 accounts. Syncing a couple of the users with massive mailboxes on the Outlook connector was a bit trickier, but they all completed successfully.

I've got a Linux email system that uses POP3 & local outlook .pst files..

I had one user where the Exchange Migration tool wouldn't work, so I used the Outlook PST importer on her local machine. It worked just fine, and we run Office 2K3 and Windows XP SP2. You may have to test another user on an XP machine and see if you still get the same problem.

Also, you might want to look into the 10MB+ attachment issue. Maybe those are the errors the tool is running into?

Could you attach the log file that got generated to the thread to help debugging the problem? The log file is saved in %temp%\<App-Name> directory.

No meaning to hijack, here -- but is there a size limitation on this importer?
I have a user with a 600MB pst (outlook 2003) 10,000 msgs, and it crashes during import.
I've split off some of his older msgs, and these PST's seem to be importing all right.
THese are PST's that have been detached (saved elsewhere) from his outlook program).

Interesting, but frustrating...

I've imported several gigabytes PST (> 4GB) with no issue.

There are tools which repairs .pst files larger than 2GB, software like Stellar Phoenix Mailbox Professional - PST Recovery Software repair and restore data from damaged or corrupted Microsoft outlook file.This Outlook recovery software scans the damaged .pst file and extracts and saves information in a new usable .pst file, enabling PST Recovery.

I did run 'scanpst.exe' on those pst files. Found errors, fixed the errors. Import was much smoother. Worked fine. Thanks
