Default Anti-virus, Anti-Spam update

Hi All,

Im not quite sure if this is the right place in the forum, but i would like to throw these questions anyway... :-) and i hope you don't mind...

1. How does zimbra do its anti-virus and anti-spam definition update?
2. Is there an automatic update for Zimbra for security pathches?
3. Are the updates (if any) applicable to both OSS and Network Edition?

Thanks and hope to hear you feedback on this matter.

Hiya

Antivirus updates are done through the freshclam daemon - part of ClamAV. By default it updates every two hours, although this can be easily configured.

Some people opt to use various spamassassin updates such as SpamDuJour. Generally, spamassassin releases are not done that often because their balanced rulesets take a long time to refine and test. Most people's attempt to update these themselves will take cause more harm than good.

No, only updates are done through a full upgrade of the entire zimbra package.
