Question How can I put Additional Domain?

Hi All,

I have the Zimbra OSS version 4.5.5 running smoothly at the moment in Ubuntu 6.06 LTS (dapper drake).

It is currently configured to use just a single domain. My question is:

1. How do i add a new domain?

I know that i can easily add the new domain in the admin console of Zimbra, but my problem is where should i suppose to add the A and MX of the new domain that i will add so it will also resolve in my local e-mail server?

I would appreciate any feedback or assistance on this matter.

Thank you very much in advance.

You don't need to add any extra records in your local DNS server unless you want your users to access the url as domainB.com or whatever you've called it. What is it you're trying to achieve?

Thank you for your feedback Bill.

Actually, i want to achieve both.

1. Just add a domain in my existing server, i.e. domainB.com. I have added this and created a user, then add my main domain information in the virtual host. I have successfully added the user and the domain, it can send an e-mail, but receiving is not happening. the e-mail that is suppose to be for user/s in domainB.com is not arriving in the server. domainB.com have a valid A and MX.

2. Also, if i want users of my domainB.com to use the URL of domainB.com, mail.domainB.com, when they login over the web, where do i place the A and MX information of the new domain?

I would appreciate your help on this matter.

Thank you very much in advance.

If you want to use the domainB.com as the url then you need to add DNS A & MX records to your local DNS server + your public DNS server if you want them to use it outside the LAn - it does work I do it myself.
