Question AV / AS issue after upgrading to 4.5.5 - Compress::Zlib not found

Hi all,

We just upgraded to 4.5.5 on a Centos 4.5. install.
After the upgrade we noticed that the AV and AS serviced we not running and as a result we had a bunch of mail locked up in the Deferrer que as it could not connect to port 10024 / amavisd.

When I try to start the service manually (zmamavisdctl start) I get the following error:
[zimbra@zimbra ~]$ ERROR: MISSING REQUIRED BASIC MODULES:
Compress::Zlib
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /opt/zimbra/amavisd/sbin/amavisd line 158.

I have confirmed that the modules are both in the Zimbra install at /opt/zimbra/zimbramon as well as the system perl libs. I have tried to clear the perllib variable and the perl5lib variable to not avail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Rich Houston

Thanks Bill but the various suggestions did not work in the end.

I did get it fixed thought with some help from the support guys at Zimbra. All I had to do was update the Compress::Zlib perl module to 1.4.2 from CPAN and then removed the Zlib.pm from the /opt/zimbra/zimbramon/lib/Compress/ Dir. After that both the AV and AS system fired up just fine.

Thanks and hope this helps. The support guys were great to deal with both on the phone and via email.

Thanks

Rich Houston
