Default Problem sending mail from terminal

Hi!

I'm trying to send mail from terminal with mailto. I simply doesn't work. No error msg. nothing.

Any hints?

You may want to help the Zimbra people by including any settings in your config files. Just saying it doesn't work isn't of much help.

Did you use the verbose and/or debug flags? The results would help you and Zimbra.

Yes, it doesn't work with some clients. What client are you trying to use?

How do I set the debug/verbose flag ... I'm sorry, I know that is lame ...

I'm trying to use the mailto command on the console ...

Zimbra Version Release 4.5.3_GA_733.UBUNTU6 UBUNTUUNKNOWN FOSS edition

Try 'man mailto'. The 'man' command allows you to see things about a command like flags, support files, what it's meant to do, it's version number and how to run it.

I tried to send mail with mutt now ... didn't work
I think the problem is that the os does not recognize to use zimbra as MTA.

Ok ... found the solution ...

simply added a symlink for sendmail to /opt/zimbra/postfix/sbin/sendmail

Mutt worked for me, well it connected and the crashed when opening the INBOX. It would probably work if I spent some time on it.
It should work for you too although using a version of links with ssl support would probably be easier if you must stick to text based email.
