Default Problem with using "zmprov ca"

OK, this is a problem with my understanding. I couldn't find anything on forum for this.

I've got external authentication working.
To add myself I've done:

ca djve@zimbratest.xxyyzz.com '' zimbraMailCanonicalAddress djve@xxyyzz.com

and I can login.

Sending email via a telnet session to port 25 works for djve@vindiciatest.xxyyzz.com. When I try djve@xxyyzz.com I get "Relay access denied".

Now all of our user details are in LDAP and it's working with postfix, courier-imap, etc. I assume there is a mapping somewhere that I need to set that allows mail to be recieved by "djve@xxyyzz.com".

So what has my huberis caused me to miss?

Thanks,

David

You might have to add xxyyzz.com as a "full" domain to Zimbra (through the web interface) then declare the alias user per user.
Or you can set up a domain alias of xxyyzz.com to zimbratest.xxyyzz.com.

I'm not sure "zmprov ca" will be of any use if the "xxyyzz.com" domain is not known to Zimbra.

Or you can also not use any user at zimbratest.xxyyzz.com but add xxyyzz.com as a domain a create the users directly here.

Thanks. That's the answer.

A Domain Alias is what was needed for this problem.

I was reading Domain Aliases as pure DNS names and not thinking of the Zimbra LDAP domain would alias a DNS domain when the LDAP domain was subservient in the name hierarchy used by the local DNS.
