Default Mysql error on install

On install of Zimbra, I get an error:

Startng mysql
UPGRADE FAILED -exiting

Right before this it shows Verifying /opt/zimbra/conf/my.cnf - This wasn't present so I copied what I had from my my.cnf file to this location. I also shutdown Iptables, Httpd, and Mysqld before running the install.

Can anyone tell me what the problem might be? I'm running 4.5.5_GA_838 and RHEL 4.

What happens when you
su - zimbra
mysql.server start

Does it start, or fail right away?
If it starts, then it's a password issue. Go to the wiki, and lookup how to reset the mysql password.

If it's fails right away, look in /opt/zimbra/db/data/(hostname.domain).err for why.

That's not the right instance of mysql. Try to run the installer again with:
./install.sh -s

I ran it with ./install.sh -s and it shows install complete. However, upon running zmsetup.pl I get stuck at the same place:

Upgrading from to 4.5.5_GA_838
Stopping zimbra services
Verifying /opt/zimbra/conf/my.cnf
Starting mysql
UPGRADE FAILED - exiting

Okay-
Can you run the
mysql.server start

without the cat? Are you doing the cat, or is the script?

Also, please post your /opt/zimbra/db/data/host.domain.com.err file

Thanks
john
