Help cannot restart Tomcat

When ?I try to restart tomcat I get the "ERROR: problem reading config from ldap. Make sure ldap is running." However, I checked ldap status and it reads running with pid. This occured after setting up authentication and GAL to my AD server. The odd thing about the GAL is the search term was successful, but it didn't pull any info, e.g name and email address. What else can I check?

FIXED: I tried resstarting ldap and tomcat then had the ability to restart.
