Default Installation of network edition on debian 3.1

I'm needing to install zimbra on a debian 3.1 system but in the network downloads I can't see an debian version - is this combination not yet supported?
I tried with the UBUNTU version but that fails when it tries to install the .deb files...

Just to make sure, you realise from that thread that we still don't support Debian as a platform for Zimbra NE don't you?

Have Debian 3.1 at the moment and the only OS's that the hosting people we are using are able to offer is

CentOS 4.x, Debian 3.x, RedHat Fedora 6.x, Slackware 10.x

doesn't appear to be a good match with your Network edition downloads?

If this is purely for testing purposes then you can use CentOS4 as it's binary compatible with RHEL. It's not a supported system and you may not be able to get support directly from Zimbra but you'll get help in the forums. Obviously for a test system using CentOS I'd advise against putting anything you want to keep on it. FWIW, I've used CentOS with the OSS version of Zimbra without problems. You may also want to check the forums & wiki for any system requirements for CentOS4 (there are a couple you need to check).

ok thanks - we'll look into using CentOS for our evaluation - yes we're using a not normally used host name for this - so there are no issues over permanence of the data
