Default 1 IP, multiple Live Domains

I hope this has not been asked and/or answered b4. If so plz forgive me and point me in the right direction.

I just got zimbra installed and i am at the point of moving all our mail colab over. I have this issue i need to resolve since it already works for horde (I have been able to do the virtual hosting using horde/postfix/vmail/mysql, etc).

A. My specs
i) Server: HP ML350 ; 512GB RAM, 2x38GB SCSI HDD, CentOS 4.5; 2.6.9-34.ELsmp Kernel
ii) IP-Globlal: 81.199.XXX.121/127
Lan: 192.168.1.7
ii) hostname -f: bigiron.mycompany.net
1. DNS. a) 81.199.XXX.XX2 www.mycompany.net
b) 81.199.XXX.XX3 www.anothercompany.net
c) 81.199.XXX.XX4 www.anothercompany2.net
d) 81.199.XXX.XX5 www.anothercompany3.net
e) 81.199.XXX.XX6 www.anothercompany4.net

2. MX records:
a) 81.199.XXX.XX2 mail.mycompany.net, mail.anothercompany.net, mail.anothercompany2.net, etc. (total of 5 mail mx records point 2 dis single IP address) These values are resolvable via our ISP DNS servers.
dig mx xxx.net returns 81.199.XXX.XX2.

3. I can send and receive mail using 81.199.XXX.XX2: mycompany.net

iii) Linux proficiency: 3 over 5

B. My Problem.
1) How to i do virtual hosting for all the other mail servers i have in A.2.a above. from the forum i see options for virtual server and server, which do i use based on my specs above.

2) How do i prevent www.mycompany.net (81.199.XXX.XX2) from showing the zimbra webmail client. i want the webmailclient to show only wen mail.mycompany.net is entered and not www.mycompany.net

I hope my problem is correctly stated. Will provide more details if need be. any help will be greatly appreciated.

thanks all.

Default Re: 1 IP, multiple Live Domains

Hi all,

1. I have solved my 1st problem (B 1) in the post by following and adapting instructions in this post:
virtual host for new domain
Although, i did not do tomcat stop/start, it is working.

I can do, with or without the domain part:
a) mail.mycompany.net and login with a mycompanyuser@mycompany.net
b) mail.othercompany.net and login with othercompanyuser@othercompany.net
c) mail.mycompany.net and login with othercompanyuser fails. This is as expected, as othercompanyuser was not created in mycompany.net.

This throws up a new problem
i) mail.othercompany.net and login with mycompanyuser@mycompany.net succeeds. The address bar does not update to reflect that the user is from mycompany.net. Is this proper? If not how do i disable it. Pointers if available.

2. I am yet to resolve the other issue of mail.company.net instead of www.company.net

thx.
