Default standalone installation

is there some instructions to configure a standalone (not networked) zimbra for running a demo on a notebook ?
i've installed zimbra with domain example.com
but email sending and receiving is not working with internal accounts.

I suspect the criteria for running a stand-alone demo server would be the same for running one that is connected to the network.

You will need to be running a DNS server on your laptop that is answering requests for example.com and pointing to your local IP.

Search the forums for 'exception during auth', you're having a problem connecting to port 22. Did you read the requirements in the Quick Start Guide?

well i finally manged it.

the problem was that my laptop network configuration was dhcp.
so the address in /etc/hosts did not correspond to the interface real address.

as a workaround, when i need to use zimbra for a demo, i'm setting my network interface card to a static ip that is the same as /etc/hosts.

this way, zimbra is starting and i can use it to send and receive emails with internal accounts.

i'v also configured that the local mta name is localhost.

thanks for your posts.
