well i finally manged it.
the problem was that my laptop network configuration was dhcp.
so the address in /etc/hosts did not correspond to the interface real address.
as a workaround, when i need to use zimbra for a demo, i'm setting my network interface card to a static ip that is the same as /etc/hosts.
this way, zimbra is starting and i can use it to send and receive emails with internal accounts.
i'v also configured that the local mta name is localhost.
