Why do I not have NPTL installed and where can I get it from ??!! This is a fresh FC3 install. Please tell me I can get it via YUM.

Well we run getconf and expect:

[zimbra@demo log]$ getconf GNU_LIBPTHREAD_VERSION
NPTL 2.3.4

Try this link:

Unhappy C3 install failure with NPTL

Thanks, when I execute "getconf GNU_LIBPTHREAD_VERSION" I get an error (I can't remember exactly what it says because I do not have access at the moment to the server) along the lines of "command not found" or something similar.

Any ideas what package I need to install to add NPTL?

Thanks.

OK. The reason NPTL is not installed is because my test machine is actually a virtual machine under UML and NPTL is not supported in UML and barely in Xen. :-( :-(

So, my new question is: Is there a way to use Zimbra without NTPL or a way of installing NTPL under UML?

Thanks.

Ahh ok. Next time please post that you using Zen+FC3 as this makes a big difference. You can get this working if you try to compile from source, but NTPL is a pretty basic requirement for modern Linux systems.
