Default FC4 installer probs with zimbra-spell

Greetings,
I was looking forward to putting the FC4 version into action, but had this problem after running install:

zimbra-spell-3.0.0_M2_746.FC4-20051116155303.i386.rpm installation failed

installation cancelled

It was installing fine up to that point

I used mikeygstl's Fedora Core 4 how-to, but had to yum libstdc++.so.5

It's FC 4 on a Pentium 1.5, 512 megs.

Any clues?

I told it to try again, but it is writing a config file.

Thanks,
Pete

Default The unknown host

I wasn't sure about the unknown host part.
I modified the host file according to 2 different threads, which worked on my other FC4 box usingthe FC3 zim installer.

It reads:

# Do not remove the following line, or various programs
# that require network functionality will fail.
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost mail.zim.bscbellevue.com

Default I'll try again

It was a faily painless install up to the fail point.
It looks like the installer is detirmined to create a log file big enough to use all the memory, so I am guessing putting FC4 on fresh again would be the quicker way to resolve at least that problem.

Any clues about the "unknow host" thing?

Thanks,
Pete

Default hostname

zim.bscbellevue.com

Does that mean the "mail.zim.bscbellevue.com" in the hosts file needs to have "mail" dropped out?

thanks,
Pete

Default yup

Yes - if the return value of `hostname` isn't in /etc/hosts, you're going to have all kinds of problems.

Thanks for the input, I'll reformat and start fresh.
This is a great forum, and a very cool project.
Thanks again,
