Question License expiration error trying to connect from Outlook

I have a one week old installation of ZCS.

All web clients work great !

This morning installed Zimbra Outlook Connector and tried to configure outlook to talk to ZCS.

Following popup window appears

Zimbra Outlook Connector License Failure

Your server's license has expired. The server will not allow message downloads and sends. You may continue to access your local data.

But all my webclients work fine ... even using the same account credentials as within Outlook.

So what gives ?

Thank you.

Max

Do you actually have the correct licence for the Outlook Connector? I'd suggest contacting support@zimbra.com so they can check your details.

I just downloaded the msi file from the web (for free)

Does the Connector have to be purchased ?

While installing it ... never asked me to enter any license info. The Admin Console for Zimbra also makes no mention of the this.

Does using the connector require me to install any server-side stuff on the zimbra server ?

ZCS newbie here.

Thanks.

Where on the 'web' did you get it from?

That depends on which version you have, look here for a version/feature comparison.

The licence file is on the Zimbra server not in any of the clients.

Ok ... I see from that link that the Outlook connector is not free. Can I just buy the license for the connector ... or do I have to upgrade the whole ZCS package to the Pro level ?

BTW ... I got the link by googl'ing for zimbra +outlook links that end in .msi

There was no intention to deceit ... just ignorance

As you were talking about the connector I assumed you were a Network Edition customer, I guess you're an Open Source user? If that's the case then you need to purchase a licence for NE version then upgrade, you'd also need to contact sales@zimbra.com for that - there is a minimum number of users required but they can give you details.

I didn't think there was, just surprised that you download it from the web.
