Are you using sudo bash root, and then su to zimbra?

Default Update

Hi John,

I just
Code:
sudo -u zimbra
whichever command as required from my bash shell to achieve the same effect.

Should be fine as it works for all other programs that I've built on OS X Server.

Default Humble pie

John.

I 'su root' ed then 'su zimbra' and tried restarting Zimbra and tomcat separately. It works fine!? I get the webmail instances starting on 8443 as desired and no LDAP errors.

How come?

Because sudo and su act differently. Fortunately, they both have man pages

mezza,
Glad it's working. Be sure to read the Install Guide, as it covers this.

Thanks
