Default interface conflict issues with debian install.

I got this error during install and now I cant get mta up and running.

Code:
Operations logged to /tmp/zmsetup.log.3225
Setting defaults...     MX: zimbra.****.com (194.21.214.176)

        Interface: 194.21.214.176
        Interface: 127.0.0.1
                194.21.214.176
Done
Checking for port conflicts
Port conflict detected: 25 (zimbra-mta)
Port conflicts detected! - Any key to continue o
My interfaces:
Code:
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet static
        address 194.21.214.176
        netmask 255.255.255.0
        gateway 194.21.214.1
----------

My host file is as follows:
Code:
127.0.0.1       localhost.localdomain   localhost
194.21.214.176   zimbra.****.com       mail
# The following lines are desirable for IPv6 capable hosts
::1     ip6-localhost ip6-loopback
fe00::0 ip6-localnet
ff00::0 ip6-mcastprefix
ff02::1 ip6-allnodes
ff02::2 ip6-allrouters
ff02::3 ip6-allhosts
I dont get the conflic as its the same interface and it's directed to the same spot 127.0.0.1 is the localhost as is 194.21.214.176. I'm using debian and the debian binaries.

Disable ipv6, your hosts file is incorrect and you have a mail server running on port 25 according to the error above. Search the forums for answers.

maybe someone can help me here, I found no example host file in the wiki and I've been searching the forums, cant see my misconfigured hosts file

Quote:
Here's the 'hosts' file:
# Do not remove the following line, or various programs
# that require network functionality will fail.
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
192.168.69.11 plotkin-tursi.info mail
Likely DNS issue...please help
I have the same setup as this person, and his seemed to be ok. maybe I'm missing something obvious? I've commented out the ipv6 compatibility.

You may have the same hosts file as that poster but his hosts file is also incorrect, it's been covered many many times in the forums. However, it's also in the Zimbra Quick Start Guide on the documentation download page at www.zimbra.com - read that first.

I got it working now, I removed the ipv6 references and I uninstalled exim from debian. Seems like it can translate my hosts file afterall? The quick guide was the one I was following through the installation, I'm not a native english speaker so I didnt understand exactly how the hosts file should have been setup, There was no "live" example to copy and edit. (probably would fix alot of questions here) or is FQDN actually gonna be written in the hosts file?

Glad it's working. The FQDN is the Fully Qualified Domain Name of the server so if your server is called 'mai'l and your domain is 'xyz.com' then the FQDN is mail.xyz.com and the hosts file should be "192.168.1.10 mail.xyz.com mail" I'd suggest changing your hosts file to that format.
