No, of course that's not correct but you haven't got Zimbra installed correctly yet.

There's still a problem with your DNS, the output you've posted is wrong. If you have a public domain name and public IP with your zimbra server behind a NAT router you'll need public DNS records hosted outside your LAN plus a local DNS server. Check the wiki for split DNS, that should fix your problems. It's difficult to tell what wrong because you're not posting your domain name so that we can check.

Well, from here you appear to have no MX record - take a look at this report. The information you posted earlier seems to show the same, no MX records.

Do a 'dig mx globe-consulting.dyndns.org' and see what it says. There's also a thread entitled 'DNS in a nutshell' that should help you.

should be an IP address. There are two parts to a split DNS, you'll also need public A, MX etc DNS records pointing to your server or nobody will be able to send you mail.

Hiya

What DNS server are you getting from dyndns.org, is it the free dynamic service? globe-consulting.dyndns.org is an A record - it's just a host entry with dyndns.org, it doesn't seem to be a seperate domain or subdomain. Therefore you can't run your own dns with it, as you seem to be trying to do - in order for this to work you need a domain NS records pointing to your own dns server. Register a domain name, then you can run your own DNS server, if that's what you really want to do. Dyndns.org will allow you to specify MX records btw, I think it effectively allows you to subdomain the dyndns.org domain - this would be a cheaper and quicker alternative. If you're trying to setup split dns purely to get zimbra running, I would recommend choosing a different domainname - it's bad practice to hijack a public domainname for internal use unless you own it.
