Default Postfix not running

I have recently installed zimbra 4.5.2 onto a Suse Linux Enterprise Server 10.2 vmware virtual machine.

I have a few questions that I would appreciate some help with:

1. BigMudCake provided a nice set of steps for installing zimbra onto an openSUSE 10.2 build--I am wondering how many of these pre-install tweaks are needed on SLES10.2

2. I have not been able to get the MTA service to stay running. After I initially finished the install zimbra was working and I was able to send mail between 2 local zimbra accounts. When I run zmcontrol status all the services are running except MTA and Spell. MTA reports that postfix is not running and Spell reports that zmapachectl is not running

Any direction in this area would be appreciated. I am more familar with M$ products, but Zimbra looks like a winner.

Thanks is advance.
