Red face Failed on reboot

Hello everyone..
I installed open source over ubuntu vmware (I use ubuntu as primary OS and run vmware to run ubuntu server to test zimbra). I check it and work fine but only the first time.

When reboot the server the services doesn't up. I tried to start the zimbra manually with zmcontrol start and I get this message:

FAILED
bdb_db_close: txn_checkpoint failed: Invalid argument (22)
backend_startup_one: bi_db_open failed! (22)
bdb_db_close: alock_close failed
ERROR - failed to start slap

I attached the png of the error..

If somebody knows something that can help me to solve it, please let me to know.

Thanks.
Miguel.

Try and run the zmfixperms script in the libexec dir. You need to run it as root.

If that doesn't work, try (as zimbra) this:

sh -x /opt/zimbra/bin/ldap start
Post the output.

Question

John thanks!

The zimbra account cannot use bash.. I used the sudo to follow your guidelines, I can see a lot of output but I don't know where to find the log therefore I added the > to log to a file but only this save a bit of output.

I typed..
sudo sh -x /opt/zimbra/bin/ldap start > log-john

The bit of output is the same message of the png.

Close to the end of the output, there are this lines:
+ sudo /opt/zimbra/openldap-2.3.21/libexec/sldap -l LOCAL04 -4 -u zimbra -h ldap: //collaboration.harmony.net:389 -f /opt/zimbra/conf/sldap.conf -d 1
+ egrep 'failed|error'

Do you think it can be a DNS error or permision issues?

John I appreciate your help.. I sew Zimbra online (site demo) and I liked.

In the words of another Developer, "What Ubuntu is doing is CRIMINAL!"

Do a search for criminal and you'll find an answer

I think that is a FANTASTIC idea.
We do support ubuntu. It's in beta now. . .but it makes it difficult when the rules are changed on us.

BTW, I love ubuntu
