Default Installation Hang

Greetings All...

I am completely new to Zimbra. I have attempted to install this (4.5 RHEL 4) on two machines (RHEL 4 and Centos 4.2), and am having the same issue on both machines. On installation the "Initializing Documents..." hangs and never ends (or at least not after 4 hours). The log file show nothing more than this other than it is running "zmprov mc default zimbraFeatureNotebookEnabled TRUE".

Can anyone provide some direction. I have searched existing threads and did not see anything that was helpful.
Thanks.

Welcome to the forums.

It works fine on RHEL4 & CentOS4 - I would upgrade your CentOS to the most recent 4.4 release. Anyway, did you disable the firewall and SElinux? Were there any other errors in the log?

Default Installation Hang

We had a similar problem with CentOS. The installation would hang if we installed from the console. If we installed through an SSH session, everything worked.

The wiki had an entry that fixed our installation hanging from the console.

Thanks for the replies and the suggestions.

Installing via SSH worked! Strange...
