Default Disable Perdiditon

Hello eveyone. I have set up Zimbra at home to evaluate if I am going to make the leap over from an *old* version of Open Exchange.

The set up was straight forward enough. I installed it on CentOS 4 with no problems.

However I have run into an issue with perdition and the admin interface. It seems that when I shut down perdition and restart tomcat the problem goes away.

I tried to disable perdition from starting to begin with but the command I founf in the WIKI did not seem to work.

So my question is: How do I disable perdition from starting upon Zimbra startup? And unrelated to the first question... what is the real benifit of using perdition?

Thanks!

Default perdition

You should be able to disable perdition from the admin interace.

perdition is usually used in multiserver installs to proxy IMAP connections to the appropriate host (i.e. everyone connects to imap.example.com, which proxies to the user's mailbox host e.g. zimbra44.example.com).

Welcome to the forums. As dkarp as already said, you can disable it via the Admin UI. You should also be able to disable it via the cli, did you run the command as the zimbra user? In fact, on a single server install you shouldn't have perdition installed and it can cause you problems.

You should never run perdition on a single server, search the wiki for 'perdition' for details of how to disable it.
