Default NPTL missing in Debian Sarge

Hello, please help.
I am installing zimbra 4.5.1 on debian 3.1 Sarge, and I get the error message that following prerequisity is missing:

NPTL...MISSING

I have installed other missing prerequisities succesfully, but I am unable to find NPTL. Any ide how can I install NPTL into Debian Sarge?

Thank you.

short answer is, you need kernel 2.6. also read through the long thread suggested, as you'll probably need a few other things too.

Default LDAP problem

Thank you, the kernel solved it.

But when I install it, it reports following error:

Initializing ldap...daemon: bind(7) failed errno=98 (Address already in use)
slap_open_listener: failed on ldap://debian.inetonline.sk:389
ERROR - failed to start slapd

FAILED (1)

ERROR

Configuration failed

And the installation stopped.
I have both Hostname and Ldap master host set to debian.inetonline.sk

Except for this error mesage I got this one before:

"DNS ERROR resolving MX for debian.inetonline.sk
It is suggested that the domain name have an MX record configured in DNS"

I don't have the DNS and MX records set - I want to use zimbra only for calendaring and as LDAP server.
I have teh hostname and email address set in the /etc/hosts file:

127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost debian
192.168.0.117 debian.inetonline.sk debian

Why does the installation stop with LDAP error?
Thank you for your help.

That would indicate that there's already an ldap server running or perhaps a failed install of Zimbra left LDAP running. You need to have DNS A & MX records set for Zimbra (postfix) to find the server.

Default LDAP problem

Yes, thanks - I have removed exim4 from startup scripts. Now I get this error instead:

Initializing ldap...TLS: error:0906D06C:PEM routines:PEM_read_bio:no start line pem_lib.c:637
TLS: error:140AD009:SSL routines:SSL_CTX_use_certificate_file:PEM lib ssl_rsa.c:536
main: TLS init def ctx failed: -1
ERROR - failed to start slapd

Do I need to have DNS A & MX records set to use Zimbra? I want to use it only on LAN.

Thank you.

Yes, it would be a good idea to have those in place, using your own DNS servers.

However, I'm not sure that's what your problem is. Got to the wiki, and follow the instructions on regenerating your certs.
