Default What firewall-ports to open? what protocol?

Hello,

1.
What firewall-ports do we need to open, that our remote workers can work with ZCS?

2.
What protocol (https?) ?

Thank's a lot for any feedback!

John

Those are the ports zimbra uses, just wanted to make sure you dont open them all in your firewall becuase there is no need to have all the ports open. just need the http, https and mail ports and I guess the admin port.

Default is https-port(443) enough, as long only web mail client over SSL os required ?

Thank's for the feedback!

As I understand, https-port(443) is enough as long only web mail client over SSL is required.

Is that the case?

Thank you!

Thank's Bill,

ok I see, I still have to learn a lot :-) But why port 25 needs to be open
if the remote clients do only use/access the Zimbra Server with the
web client (no Outlook-connector) ?

Port 25 is how mail servers transmit mail to each other, it needs to be open to receive mail.
