    Okay, so what's 208.97.132.47?

Anyway, you need to make sure that you DNS is set up correctly.

Well I thought that came from the Mail Server that the ZCS box was trying to contact to send a message and was timing out.

We got that address from the zcs log, by watching it when it tried to send a message.

So I thought it was were the out bound message was trying to go.

I tried this to test my MX records

    todd-geists-computer:~ toddgeist$ host -t mx macbased.net
    macbased.net mail is handled by 0 mail.macbased.net.
    macbased.net mail is handled by 0 mail2.macbased.net.
I thought this should return IP addresses but maybe not yet, I just changed the Zone file

    Default Thanks!

Thank you for pointing out this website.

I have modified my MX record to point to an A record "mail". I hope that is all need to do.

It would be cool if there was a website that tested specifically for Zimbra Requirements. Maybe it could check for the correct ports being available and check the DNS etc.

    Thanks again

    Todd

There's also a more comprehensive check site here http://www.dnsreport.com/ - you can also find plenty more DNS check sites & port checkers via google.

    Default Timing out

OK so I think I have MX records closer to correct now. But DNSReports that it fails tp connect to my box. It has the right IP address but it says it times out after 40 seconds.

If I run a Port scan on my zcs box. Port 25 doesn't appear to be open. Even when I turn off the OSX firewall.

Obviously this is an issue, but I don't really know what to do about it.

    Anybody have any ideas?

    Thanks

    Todd

Is the Zimbra server actually running? What does
    Code:
    zmcontrol status
run as the zimbra user show? If they are all running, can you try a 'telnet x.x.x.x 25' to the zimbra server on a the zimbra server itself. If that works try it from another workstation. What does the following return:
    Code:
    host `hostname`
Is your /etc/hosts file correct. I there any possibility that your ISP is blocking port 25?
    Regards
